LVLS Members,
I wish to thank all that participated in this years Holiday train
display. I also want to especially thank those who helped take down
every thing that Monday Dec 28...
There is talk about going back to AOW next year... but would like to
hear from you what you would like to see done differently. To the
members that didn't participate what could we do to see more of you?
This is a great facility...heat, lunch room, chairs, bathrooms,
great cars and trucks to look at...and you get to bring and run your
trains also.
We
will probably a general meeting some time in the near future.
Thanks again for all your help and cooperation and have a safe and
Happy New Year

LVLS CLUBERS;
Well another successful show for LVLS! After 5 weeks at the "AMERICA
ON WHEELS" museum the show has finally come to an end! The trains
drew many visitors into the museum. There were many comments as to
how wonderful the train displays were.
There was an HO (Explorers) display. A great display from Bob Metz,
A circus display (Brotzman) and of course the great LVLS display
which took up the entire 2nd floor display room.
The club donated $3000.00 to SECOND HARVEST for the 2nd year in a
row and made over $200.00 in donations for the club. At this time
the LVLS board would like to thank all the members who gave up their
valuable time during the holidays to help setup, run and teardown
the 3 displays or donate buildings or trains..
They are: (in no particular order): Barbara Karkutt & Hubby, Barry
Brobst, Barry Yeakel, Bill Gold, Bob Fletcher, Bob Schaller, Bob
Metz, Chris Kacsur, Craig Weaver, Dave Funk, Dave Hill, Dick Deim,
Dick Luckok (wonderful display & pictures), Don Albright, James
Wolf, Jim Barker, Kevin Yutz, Lynn Ratzell, Paul Bartlett, Robin
Tinsley, Norm Faut.
On another note: As everyone knows, we have a new board as of
January 1, 2010.
President: Jim Barker, Vice President: Glenn Watt, Secretary: Barry
Yeakel, Treasurer: Barbara Karkutt
The club is planning on having a general meeting sometime in the
very near future (fair warning). The museum has offered their
meeting room to us for or meeting. It is important that as many
members as possible attend as there will be some important matters
to discuss. I will post in advance a notice for the meeting.
Well that's enough for now.
Again, thanks to everyone who helped out and a HAPPY NEW YEAR to all
our members!
